John L. Herman Jr was born in Baltimore City and raised his family in Baltimore County.

After Calvert Hall, "Herman" attended Towson University and then joined the Air National Guard, becoming a Pilot. His business career as a consultant took him to 41 different states for various banks and involved more than 400 transactions involving financially troubled companies. His primary role was to "save the business" to have a greater recovery for the creditors while preserving jobs.

Once retired, Herman studied Health Insurance becoming a Licensed Agent, dedicating himself to providing Seniors with information about MEDICARE and the variety of options people have. As a 75-year-old, Herman knows all too well how complicated the many facets of MEDICARE can be.
